 | Goondocks was born from the meeting of two young italian DJs and producers, grew up in Milan and Rome’s night-life. The two guys (Steve Rey & Jurij Liotta) hit the world of music production creating very personal bootleg of some classic pop tracks. Each one following different sounds but, nonetheless 360° music lovers, the Goondocks create a cross-project aimed to deliver a variegated sound.
This is how you get that fusion of styles that makes their sound a unique re-interpretation of old-school vibes, in a modern flavor. The contrast among the three musical philosophies that give rise to this unique “recipe” loaded with the intense bass lines typical of Deep House, combined with the melodic fills of funk and electronic music, characterize the perfect mixture of genres that they encompass in their productions. A sprinkle of classic House Music singers is the finishing touch for this dish that will delight music lovers with the finest palate.
It is in this experimental context that the two artists have rooted their will to combine – through selections that result from years of research of less commercial sounds – the underground philosophy of the Deep House scene and the idea of joy, friendship, will to party, and cheerfulness, in our idea of making music. Besides innovating the existing scene, this experimental profile creates a completely new clubbing scenario, where deep house vibes are finely selected in order to bring them to the big public and allow it to appreciate the sonorousness of the true house house music, although proposed in a modern interpretation. An open attitude towards novelties is the driving force that overcomes clichés that limit a genre to one standard environment or public; this way, music goes beyond the ideal borders given for granted, making every selection a unique, unrepeatable moment, and returns to being a means to unite people and spread joy among them.
Their work has drawn a lot of interest both among the experts and the public right from the beginning. The duo is currently working on several releases and collaborations with foreign singers. They have released many tracks with Royal Beat Records and Goondocks Records (own label), right now, are publishing their work on Sirup Music.
The duo are also collecting quite a string of live performances. The members have a renowned experience and personal curricula among the most famous clubs of Milan and Rome, with several appearances abroad (London, Miami, Greece, Croatia, Spain, etc.)
